OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro were announced earlier this year, and now they’re getting a major update. Their camera was co-engineered with Hasselblad, and now both phones are getting a dedicated Hasselblad Xpan shooting mode. Paying a tribute to the unique film camera, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro can now simulate the look of the Xpan.
Hasselblad announce adapter to let you use XPan lenses on your X1D medium format digital camera
Since its launch, the Hasselblad X1D lens variety hasn’t been huge. It was initially announced along with the 30mm f/3.5, 45mm f/3.5, and 90mm f/3.2. Since then, four new lenses have been announced, but only one has shown up so far. The 120mm f/3.5 Macro. Aside from that, your only option is an adapter to use the H lenses of its beefier siblings.
Now, though, Hasselblad wants to give X1D owners fast access to three already existing lenses with a new XPan lens adapter. While XPan lenses haven’t been made for a little while, they’re still out there used. This adapter adds the ability to use your X1D with those 30mm f/5.6, 45mm f/4 and 90mm f/4 XPan lenses.
Adventures in Scotland with a Hasselblad XPan and Kodak Portra
There’s something very special about Scotland’s wilderness. It has a landscape like few other places in the world. Dutch photographer Tom Kluyver decided to visit Scotland for himself recently, along with his friend designer, Matthijs van Leeuwen. The pair spent a week exploring some of what Scotland has to offer, and decided to document the trip with film.
Specifically, Tom chose a Hasselblad XPan 35mm panoramic camera loaded with Kodak Portra film. Tom admits they weren’t fully prepared for what lay ahead of them, but that’s what makes trips like these so great. You never really know where you’re going to end up, or what you’re going to see.
