Who doesn’t love a Rube Goldberg machine? Recipient of the GoPro Awards, Cree Osner created this delightful video shot on a GoPro HERO8 Black and the GoPro MAX. Cree glued some peanuts to a domino and then had to wait a further 14 hours in a bush for a squirrel to set the machine off, that’s dedication!
These are the best consumer 360° cameras you can buy right
360° cameras have come far in the last couple of years. I remember trying out the first version of the Ricoh Theta and thinking that it was a cool idea, but the quality and feature set just wasn’t there. When the YI 360 VR was released, offering 5.7K resolution, I felt they were finally starting to hit that point. But the tech that goes into 360° cameras has come much further since then.
But what are the top consumer picks when it comes to 360° cameras? In this video, Daniel The 360 Guy shows us his top five 360° cameras that you can get today. Daniel points out the good, the bad and the “ok” for each of the cameras. Possibly not surprisingly, there isn’t really a single “best” camera that’s good for all uses, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages over the others for different needs.
The GoPro Hero 8 is official, along with “Mods” and GoPro MAX 360° camera
There have been rumours for a while, but now GoPro has officially announced the new GoPro Hero8 Black. Don’t get too excited, though, not much has changed in the camera itself since its predecessor. It does see a bump in max bitrate, though, going from the Hero7’s 78Mbps to 100Mbps for 4K footage. There’s also a new GoPro MAX 360° camera, follow up to the not-terribly-popular GoPro Fusion.
GoPro teases HERO8 and a new 360º action camera, official announcement coming next week
Photos and specs of the upcoming GoPro Hero 8 leaked last month, and it seems that we’re not far from the official announcement. GoPro has just released a teaser of what seems to be not only the Hero 8, but also a new 360º action camera.
