GoPro teases HERO8 and a new 360º action camera, official announcement coming next week

Photos and specs of the upcoming GoPro Hero 8 leaked last month, and it seems that we’re not far from the official announcement. GoPro has just released a teaser of what seems to be not only the Hero 8, but also a new 360º action camera.

GoPro Fusion to receive 5.8K resolution bump and 24fps recording in new firmware

So, with Fuji, Sony and now GoPro picking up the “we’ll just add new features in future firmware” trend, it looks like this is just the way of things now. GoPro’s announcement today adds a few features to the GoPro Fusion, increasing functionality for filmmakers and 360° content creators. There’s also a new Fusion Studio as well as Premiere Pro & After Effects plugins.

This three-minute snowboarding video is transition heaven – How many can you spot?

Sometimes, you see a video that makes you just go “wtf did I just watch?”. This snowboarding short, A GoPro Adventure in Les 3 Vallees, by filmmaker Claudiu Voicu is a perfect example of that. Shot entirely with the GoPro Hero 6 and GoPro Fusion, this three-minute video contains some of the most challenging shot transitions out there. Oh, and giant aliens.

GoPro Fusion officially launched: captures 5.2K/30p spherical video

After a relatively vague announcement back in April, GoPro Fusion is now officially out. It’s a spherical camera able to capture 5.2K spherical videos at 30fps, as well as 3K at 60fps. You can playback the videos as VR, or share them as traditional videos.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
