Winter is coming. Actually, for some of us, it has well and truly arrived already, depending on where you live in the world. Even Valencia experienced a light flurry or two at the weekend which is very unusual. With the snow comes photographic opportunities to capture those beautiful winter landscapes. There’s no such thing as bad weather, the saying goes, just inappropriate clothing. Luckily Austrian brand The Heat Company is here to save the day and keep our hands warm and toasty with their gloves and mittens made specifically for outdoor photographers.

As a photographer who lives and shoots in the Midwest (United States), I know all too well the pain of shooting in frigid temperatures on an annual basis. I’ve tried all kinds of gloves, mittens or hybrids to keep my fingers toasty while shooting, but none have proven to be the perfect pair, leaving at least a few flaws in every method I’ve tried so far.

Gloves / Photography Tips And Etre Touchy Gloves Winners

Four days ago, we had a post about making gloves that fit taking pictures in a cold weather. We also had a giveaway for Etre Touchy gloves.

Well, the Etre Touchy Contest is over and we have our three winners. Scroll to the end to find out if you are one of the Lucky bare handed who get a pair of the coolest photog gloves ever. We had 215 submissions, some had some great tips, some were hilarious to read (yup, I read them all) and some were simply opt-in which is also cool. Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
