Fujifilm GFX 100S was announced last week, and there are already hiccups with the shipping. Fuji has issued an official announcement that shipping will be delayed, and according to the company, it can’t catch up with the users’ demands.
Fujifilm reveals “the truth” about GFX 100S leaks in this brilliant ad
Plenty of Fujifilm gear has leaked over the years: from instant cameras to medium format. Most recently, we saw the now announced GFX 100S appear online – but did it really leak? In this brilliant and hilarious ad, Fuji tells us “the truth” about how the company’s latest medium format camera got to leak days ahead of the announcement.
Fuji’s $5,999 medium format GFX 100S has now been officially announced
Fujifilm has now officially announced the new GFX 100S, and it has indeed been released at the $5,999 price tag rumoured earlier this month. Given yesterday’s release of the Sony A1 at $6,499, this seems an extremely reasonable price for what you’re getting. Of course, medium format lenses are a tad more expensive.
Development for the camera was announced back in 2018, and there’s been quite a bit of speculation about what it might offer. Today’s announcement, however, puts all those rumours and speculation to rest.
Fuji’s GFX 100S announcement coming on January 27th? Price expected to be $5,999
There isn’t a lot of information on this one yet, but Fujifilm is expected to possibly be making an announcement on January 27th for the new Fuji GFX 100S. Probably the most surprising thing about it, though, will be the price, which is anticipated to be a relatively measly $5,999 – putting it well into high end DSLR/mirrorless pricing territory.
The camera, which has been long in the making, will feature a medium format 102-megapixel back-side illuminated sensor and phase detection autofocus. It appears that any suggestions that a shrunken down GFX 100R might lose IBIS may also turn out to be false.
First photos of the Fujifilm GFX 100S rear show 3-way tilt screen and no D-Pad
There hasn’t been a lot of information about the Fujifilm GFX 100S yet, but some photos have been discovered on Instagram. They were actually posted to Instagram back in October 2018 by gao3366, but nobody seems to have noticed them until they were sent to Fuji Rumors.
The four images were posted as a single Instagram post, so you’ll have to flick through them in the embed, but they show the GFX 100S from the front, top, rear and side views, being held in a hand to give you a sense of overall scale.
Fujifilm’s “affordable medium format” GFX 50R announced, along with development of 100MP GFX 100S
After plenty of rumors about the affordable and compact Fujifilm GFX 50R and the 100MP GFX 100S, now it’s official: Fujifilm has launched the GFX 50R for preorders and announced the development of the GFX 100S. The GFX 50R retails for $4,500, which isn’t exactly a pocket change, but it’s still $1,350 cheaper than the Fujifilm GFX 50S.
Fujifilm to announce development of new 100MP GFX 100S medium format mirrorless camera on September 25th
Well, I had a feeling this one might be coming. With anticipated price drop on the GFX 50S and rumours of slightly more budget-friendly GFX 50R, a new 100MP body was almost certainly on the cards. Now, according to Fuji Rumors, the Fuji GFX 100S will be announced on September 25th during the press briefing at Photokina 2018. Or at least, they’ll be announcing the development of it.
The first leaked photo of Fuji’s new “affordable” medium format GFX 50R mirrorless camera
You can tell Photokina’s coming. The announcement rumours are coming through thick and fast right now. Since the Nikon Z6/Z7 announcement, we’ve seen full frame mirrorlesss announcement rumours for Canon and Panasonic. And we’ve already seen one from Fuji for the impending X-T3.
But it looks like Fuji has another trick up their sleeve. The Fujifilm GFX 50R, a new “affordable” medium format mirrorless camera. Fuji Addict reports that it’s expected to be announced on September 23rd, and the first photo of the new camera has been leaked on Weibo.
