It doesn’t seem so long ago that Getty was getting all in a flap and suing Stable Diffusion AI for its unauthorised use of their images. Well, as they say: if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Getty has just announced that it too, will be offering the option of AI-generated images.

Generative AI by Getty Images was launched yesterday in collaboration with NVIDIA. “A new tool that pairs our best-in-class creative content with the latest AI technology for a commercially safe generative AI tool” says the announcement in a LinkedIn post.

You’re Wrong About Ai Copyright

ai copyright debate

I can’t seem to get a straight answer when it comes to the question of owning the copyright to a photo or video taken in a video game. Not being a lawyer, and with the understanding that this is not legal advice, it seems to be largely about what constitutes “Fair Use” under U.S. Copyright law.

Have I made enough commentary about the video game to justify including it in my video? Do I actually own the copyright to a photograph I take in a game? Can I sell copies? Does the licensing agreement I agreed to when I bought the game violate my first amendment rights? (probably not)

Shutterstock, the popular stock photo site, has announced plans to provide full indemnification to business users of its AI art generator. The move aims to boost business confidence in AI and protect companies from potential legal claims arising from images created using the platform’s AI technology.

Shutterstock has said that any AI-generated images under legal claims will undergo human review. The decision by Shutterstock comes shortly after Adobe’s similar announcement to introduce IP indemnity for businesses using its generative AI platform, Firefly. These developments indicate a growing focus on addressing the industry’s legal concerns surrounding AI-generated content.

The world of art has always been a space for creativity, expression, and innovation. Throughout history, artists have pushed boundaries, challenged conventions, and embraced new technologies to create groundbreaking works. Artificial intelligence (AI) has brought about a significant shift in the artistic landscape in recent years, sparking both fascination and concern.

One platform that has captured the attention of many artists is MidJourney, which offers new functionality that allows users to zoom out and generate images endlessly quickly. This capability has opened up a realm of possibilities for storytelling and experimentation. This new feature inspired me, and immediately, I wanted to use it to tell a story. I settled on a music video as a concept.

Adobe only launched its AI model Firefly three months ago, and I feel like it’s everywhere. Well, even if it isn’t really, it might be – because Adobe has now opened its AI model to businesses. At this year’s Adobe Summit, the company presented Adobe Firefly for Enterprise. This means that companies can use Firefly not only through Photoshop and other Adobe programs, but incorporate it into their own apps, too.
