As photographers, we’ve all had some funny, weird and cringeworthy situations. Photographer Jessica Kobeissi got to hear about some of these situations from her followers, and in this video, she shares some of their funniest and weirdest confessions. Let’s see if any of these situations seem familiar.
Vertical videos seem to be the future, whether we like it or not. It all started with Instagram and Snapchat, and even Arri and Samsung have joined the trend. However, the arguments against it are still strong and the debate between vertical and horizontal video seems never-ending at this point. But, a brilliant comic from xkcd seems to have the ultimate solution!
If you run a video production company, you want to do your best to show off your skills. And if you need some inspiration, check out this awesome promo video Seed Creative. It shows everything you shouldn’t do in a promo video (or any video, ever), and I’m pretty sure it will make you laugh out loud.
Every year on this day I get trolled by at least one of my friends. And as if that weren’t enough, today I’ve been trolled by the news and YouTube videos from the moment I started working. I gotta admit – I even fell for one of these pranks for a moment!
So, I’m bringing you a list of the best photography-related pranks from all over the Internet. You can use them to prank your friends, and we’ll update the article throughout the day, so you can check back. And if you’ve read the photography news today and got excited about something, keep in mind that this post may spoil it for you.
I don’t know about you, but I really love vintage ads. They remind me what life was like back in the day and inevitably spark the feeling of nostalgia. But there some ads that seem as if they came from darkest corners of the advertising world. And in this video, Azriel Knight brings you five hilariously bad camera ads from the ‘80s and ‘90s. They reach the impossible levels of awkwardness, and they’ll make you cringe. But also laugh.
When he recognized himself in a photo following an article about “all hipsters looking the same,” a hipster got furious. He sent an angry email to MIT Technology Review, but little did he know that he would only prove the theory of the article. When the MIT journal’s editors checked the image license, it turned out that the photo showed a totally different hipster.
Of all NASA’s achievements over the years, this has to be up there amongst the best. It’s certainly the most hilarious. It turns out, that on every mission since the first International Space Station mission in 2000, NASA has created expedition posters. Posters that typically include a group photo of the crew.
After a while, I guess they started to feel a bit boring. And maybe a bit cringy. So, they decided to take things up a notch or two. These mission posters now parody some of the most famous movie posters out there. And they’re awesome. They’re used to advertise expeditions and also hung in various NASA facilities.
If you want to learn about the real history of the digital camera sensor size wars, then you probably should watch a different video. But if you want to have a bit of laugh while seeing how far sensors have come over the years, then this video from Camera Conspiracies may just be for you.
A phrase you often hear when it comes to children is “they grow up so quickly”. Not quickly enough, though, for Texas-based lifestyle and family photographer Ashley Evans. Oh no, she’s been force-growing babies in Photoshop by giving them teeth. And, yes, that’s just as terrifying and hilarious as it sounds!
When I first saw one of these pictures scroll up my Facebook feed, I skipped by it. But then I had to scroll back because something wasn’t right about it. Then it struck me what it was. I couldn’t look away, so, DIYP got in touch with Ashley to find out more about what has now become the Babies with Teeth project… and why?!?
