Sirui just made an interesting announcement. A 100 watt auto-inflatable LED light. It is not the first inflatable light we’ve seen here. Pipelight, whom we met at IBC, also made an inflatable light. But unlike Pipelight, SIRUI targets everyday users and not just huge production companies.

Interstingly, SIRUI is not launching this product the usual way but via a croud funding platform on their own website. While there is an inherent risk in supporting a product before it ships, the april target date suggests that the product may actually be almost ready.  (Looking at the update section indicates that the A100B is already in production)

Godox expands their range of video lights with four new high CRI flexible LED panels

While we all know Godox for their strobes and speedlights, Godox has also been making LED video lights for quite a while now. Until lately, though, they weren’t really all that good. That’s changed recently, though, as Godox has started to get more serious about their video-shooting customers.

The Godox SL series, and in particular the SL60 have proven very popular. But now Godox is starting to focus more on versatility, with a new range of flexible LED lights offering a CRI of 96, stepless power output and remote control through a standard remote or the Godox smartphone app.

Westcott’s new Flex Cine lights add full RGB colour to their flexible LED lighting range

Westcott has today announced a new Flex Cine lighting system. Carrying on from the popular Flex system launched in 2014, the new Flex Cine line gets full RGBW capability. Westcott says they haven’t just added RGB LEDs to their old lights, though. They’ve redesigned them from the ground up. There’s also a wireless DMX Dimmer.

Flexible LED lights have a number of uses and benefits. They are lightweight, provide good light, and, well – they’re flexible. One negative side is that they can cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, so not everyone can afford them.
