If someone told me that a photo of cheese could send a person to jail, I wouldn’t believe it. And yet, it really happened. A drug dealer recently got busted and sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison after he posted a photo of cheese online. And I’m not using slang here, it was actual cheese.
Police in Wales recently arrested a drug dealer thanks to fingerprints taken from a WhatsApp photo. The snapshot shows only a part of the man’s palm, but it was apparently enough to lead to the suspect and secure 11 convictions. According to the reports, this is the first time that Welsh police made convictions based on the fingerprints taken from a photo.
Canon has recently admitted that they are lagging in innovation behind other companies. Judging from that interview, there was no word about their plans related to photography. However, the company has recently filed a patent that lets you control your cameras and lenses using fingerprint detection.
