Amazon marketplace has been selling counterfeit Canon batteries and chargers, apparently. Amazon.com and Canon USA have issued a joint lawsuit against the companies selling fake goods via Amazon.com. In a bizarre twist, Amazon.com is basically suing itself.

The lawsuit was filed against 29 Amazon accounts selling the fake chargers and batteries for infringement of Canon’s trademark.

Fujifilm has updated their warning on counterfeit Fuji camera batteries that are currently floating around on the market. Canon has announced that they’ve won a lawsuit against two eBay sellers for selling counterfeit “Canon” batteries. While 2 sellers may not sound like a lot, the fact that Canon even went after them is certainly going to give other counterfeit sellers some pause for thought.
