In an interview with Imaging Resource and Canon Exec, Yoshiyuki Mizoguchi revealed some interesting details about the future of the Canon EOS R and where the series may be heading. And according to Mizoguchi, that direction will be heavily influenced by video.

Well, apparently, the purpose of this one seems to be to turn every Canon EF lens out there into a soft focus lens when used on an EOS R (or other, future RF mount body).

by 3 CommentsCanon got a lot of flak when the EOS R camera with no in-body image stabilisation. Well, it got flak for a lot of things, like the single card slot and ridiculously cropped 4K video mode, but the lack of IBIS was a big one, too.
Canon has said previously said that, essentially, they didn’t put IBIS in the EOS R because they didn’t feel that putting it in the body was the right way to go. Well, according to a post over on Canon Rumors, it seems that Canon might have actually listened to feedback and will be putting it into one of their new EOS R bodies sooner than we thought.

Canon Rumors says they’ve been told that Canon has scrapped plans for at least one new DSLR in favour of a mirrorless alternative. Whether or not it’s true is another matter, but it would be a smart move.
