Kickstarter projects often get a pretty negative response from the get-go, especially in the photography world. Most of us have expected a mirrorless or a DSLR camera, but Yashica came back with something unexpected, to say the least. The Y35 was launched on Kickstarter in October with its faux film roll, and it caused a lot of reactions.
Judging from the comments, some photographers were eager to try it, but the majority couldn’t see the purpose of this “hipster toy.” However, a month after the campaign was launched, its success shows that there are most likely more of those who want to try out the Y35.
