Dell’s UltraSharp UP3218K is the world’s first 8K monitor. Price is $5K

Here comes the first 8K monitor at a staggering price of $5,000 or roughly 66 pixels/cent. This price point can only complete with the UP3218K  crazy resolution of 7680×4320 pixels.

The monitor was announced in January at CES, and is now dubbed the “world’s first consumer 8K monitor”. Dell’s UP3218K  boasts a 31.5 inch IPS panel, which put is in the 280 pixels per inch realm. If you look at the other specs, it’s obvious that this monitor is aiming for the high-end and premium users.

Dell launches Surface Studio-like graphics tablet and a $4,999 8K screen

It seems that Microsoft aren’t the only ones who’ve been working on a control dial you can use on a display. At CES2017, Dell introduced what it claims is the “world’s first horizontal smart workspace”. It’s called the Dell Canvas, and it’s a 27″ 2560×1440 resolution touch sensitive display.

Dell also announced a new 32″ 8K desktop monitor capable of displaying 1.07 billion colours. It has 100% coverage of both the AdobeRGB and sRGB colour gamuts, but it’s not cheap. Known as the UP3218K, it has a resolution of 7680×4320 (280ppi pixel density), and costs an impressive $4,999.

He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
