Photographer killed by a falling branch, police suspect foul play

While she was taking photos at Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio-based photographer Victoria Schafer was struck by a falling branch of a tree. Unfortunately, she was killed in the incident, and the authorities suspect foul play. They are now offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of suspects.

Documentary photography legend Robert Frank dies at 94

Robert Frank, documentary photographer best known for his 1958 book The Americans, has passed away on Monday, 9 September at his home in Nova Scotia, Canada. His death was confirmed by Peter MacGill of Frank’s longtime gallery Pace-MacGill.

German fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh has died, aged 74

German fashion photographer, Peter Lindberg has died, aged 74. A statement made by his family and shared to Peter’s official Instagram account of 1.3 million followers confirmed the news this morning.

Born in 1944 in what is now Poland, Peter Lindbergh has been one of the most influential names in fashion photography for decades. Having worked with countless designers and magazines throughout his career, he’s had a significant impact on the fashion industry and popular culture over the years.

Found GoPro footage reveals last minutes of eight dead Himalayan climbers

On 26 May current year, eight climbers went missing in the Indian Himalayas. Sadly, seven of them were found dead 20 days later, presumably by triggering an avalanche. A recently recovered GoPro footage shows what could have been their last minutes before the tragic event.

Tourist falls 1,000 feet to his death while taking photos at Grand Canyon

On Thursday morning, a tourist plunged to his death in Grand Canyon while taking photos. The accident happened at Eagle Point near Skywalk, and a helicopter retrieved the man’s body 1,000ft below the rim.

Award-winning Reuters photographer, Yannis Behrakis, has died at the age of 58. He was one of Reuters’ most decorated and best-loved photographers, and on 2 March 2019, he lost a long battle with cancer.

Ross Lowell, the award-winning director, cinematographer, author, and inventor, died 10 January 2019 at the age of 92. He was a founder of Lowel-Light and an inventor of gaffer tape. According to his wife Marilyn Shapiro-Lowell, he died at his home in Pound Ridge, New York.

A teen falls to her death at Horseshoe Bend, a popular photo destination

It’s a sad fact that several times a year, we hear about deaths caused by accidental fall at famous tourist spots and photo destinations. The latest tragedy happened to a 14-year-old girl, who was found dead below the Horseshoe Bend overlook in Arizona.

Last week in Zimbabwe, a German tourist was trampled to death by an elephant when she tried to get closer and take a photo of the animal. The officials said that the 49-year-old woman was attacked by the elephant, and she later succumbed to her injuries.

Photographer dies after falling from 40 feet while trying to take a photo

Sadly, we have more than once heard the tragic stories of photographers falling to their death while trying to take a photo. The latest tragedy happened in Lodi, California when a 63-year old photographer Jiyoun Park tried to take a photo from the roof of a parking garage. The man fell 40 feet from the ledge and died shortly after.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
