At just about every show I’ve been to for the last couple of years where Canon has been in attendance, they’ve been showing off some concept camera prototypes. We featured a couple of them last year during The Photography Show 2018 in the UK. And at CP+ 2019 in Japan a few months ago, they were showing off more. Now, Nikkan is reporting that three of these concept cameras will be released before the end of this year and suggested they are cameras we’ve seen before.
Even though I’m not primarily a Canon shooter, I’m always intrigued by the concept cameras and sensors that Canon bring to show off at shows around the world. During The Photography Show, Canon brought two with them. Actually, they brought a bunch, but they all basically stem from two different types of camera. We had a chat with David Parry on the Canon stand to find out more.
Ever find yourself needing the inspiration to create an image, but you just can muster up any from anywhere. It happens to all us all, don’t worry. Recently I had to create an image for Dark realm Collectives latest Artpack, urban nightmares. I searched and searched for inspiration, but it didn’t seem to come. This can happen because of many factors. Tiredness, working too much, feeling down. Any of these plus much more. Sometimes the Muse just doesn’t want to come, sit on your lap and stroke……..your face! Godammit people get your minds out of the gutter haha. As the deadline drew closer, I knew I had to create something, so I used one of my inspiration kickstart techniques and came up with the above image. What is an inspiration Kickstarter technique……it’s one of my go-to tricks if no images concepts are popping into my head.[Read More…]
Photojournalists go through many dangerous situations during their career. Have you ever wondered how this could be changed? Dillon Kane has, so he designed a car of the future – a concept created especially for photojournalists. He submitted his design to Magna International’s “Main Event” design competition, and won the first place.
His concept is called “30 Degrees West”, and it shows his vision of a car for 2030. It’s a car for photojournalists to drive and capture whatever they need to capture. Dillon showed a lot of creativity, and his concept really has some interesting features. He shared his vision and idea behind the project with DIYP.
It’s not the first time Kylie Jenner’s been accused of stealing other peoples ideas. She’s been accused of copying lipstick formulas form other companies. She’s also been accused of stealing a makeup artist’s eyeshadow palette for her “KyShadows”, as well as imagery from LA make-up artist Vlada Haggerty. You might remember Vlada. We featured a post of hers on DIYP a few months ago on giving credit where it is due. How’s that for irony?
Vlada is now accusing Kylie of stealing from her, yet again. This time, it’s the concept from a shoot she did in September. Vlada posted an image to Instagram in September. Kylie posted hers just yesterday. After seeing them side-by-side, you can’t deny there’s a pretty striking similarity between the two. Here’s Vlada’s image, that was posted two months ago.
The future has never seemed less exciting.
A new video released by DJI presents the Phantom X Concept drone, including a bunch of new(ish) and (kinda) useful technology.
Claiming to “turn wide-eyed dreams of future possibilities into fact”, the Phantom X includes multi-angle shooting, artificial intelligence, obstacle avoidance and free-flight object tracking.
Enlisting help from companies and brands such as Adobe, Lexar, House of Cards and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., DJI also presents what I predict could become the next biggest PITA – drone sky painting.
