Striking street shot from Iran wins top prize of 2022 ColorPro Award

These are the top 10 Winners of the 2022 ColorPro Award

A striking minimal street shot with contrasting warm and cool tones has won the coveted 2022 ColorPro Award. The first prize photograph by Alireza Bagheri Sani from Iran is titled “No.3” and creates a serene and simple image. The image is carefully executed to highlight the different door colors and architectural nuances.

This year’s theme was “Breakthrough.” As the world seeks full recovery from the pandemic, “Breakthrough” represents overcoming an obstacle and permission for further progress, says the Award website. Two times more submissions and three times more countries participated in the contest over the previous year, with artists from 139 countries submitting 11,165 artworks. USA-based landscape and nature photographer Brent Clark has won the 2022 Natural Landscape Photography
Awards. His images of sweeping sands and autumn forests wowed judges with their slightly abstract feel and cohesive umber color palette.

The award is the very first international photography competition of its kind. Now in its second year, the competition was created to promote the very best landscape photography by digital and film photographers who value realism and
authenticity in their work. The competition established a set of important rules to avoid the excessive digital
editing techniques that have become commonplace in landscape photography. Here are the rest of the winning images.

The European Wildlife Photographer of the Year has announced its winners for 2022. Every year, the German Society for Nature Photography (GDT) chooses the best photos and selects a winner of this prestigious contest. And this year, the overall winner is Russian photographer Mike Korostelev.

Mike’s image titled Hippo World enthralled the judges, bringing him the first prize in the contest. But there are also category winners and special prize winners, and I’m sure you’ll love them just as much.

Nikon Small World winners show the giant beauty of the microscopic world

Nikon has announced the winners of its annual Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition. For almost five decades, Nikon has shared the best microscopic images from this contest, and just as always – they are absolutely marvelous.

This year’s first-place prize was awarded to Grigorii Timin for his remarkable image of an embryonic hand of a Madagascar giant day gecko. But Nikon also recognizes the best 20 images from the contest, so let’s take a look and enjoy them together.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year never fails to impress us with awe-inspiring photos of flora and fauna, both above and below water, even up in the sky. And this year, a swarm of tiny creatures won the big prize.

Photographer Karine Aigner has won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2022. Her image shows a buzzing ball of cactus bees spinning over the hot sand on a Texas ranch. Taken at the bee level, it depicts the behavior of these creatures, but also reminds us of how important it is to protect them.

Monster wave surf image wins Ocean Photographer of the Year 2022

French Polynesia-based photographer, Ben Thouard, has been announced as the Ocean Photographer of the Year 2022.
Ben’s incredible image is beautifully composed and full of texture and action. It shows a surfer battling against
one of the heaviest waves in the world, Teahupo’o, which translates as ‘place of skulls’. Chosen from thousands of submissions from around the world, it was the unanimous winner.

The Ocean Photographer of the Year has a simple mission: to shine a light on the beauty of the ocean and the
threats it faces. Category winners include images of posing pods of pilot whales, humans exploring the farthest reaches of the ocean, and recovered reefs booming with biomass. Read on to see more of the winning images.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
