The Comedy Pet Photo Awards recently treated us with its hilarious finalist images. My favorite of the bunch was a photo of cats (of course it was), and I’m happy to announce that a cat photo is also the contest winner. Michel Zoghzoghi took it and called it A life Changing Experience. It shows his adorable two rescue kittens, and as always – there are more photos to chuckle at and “aww” about.
Comedy Pet Photo Awards opens 2023 submissions with some hilarious unseen images
Comedy Pet Photographer of the Year is one of those contests that reminds us that life is better with pets. If you agree, you can submit a photo of your four-legged best friend and win valuable prizes.
The 2023 Comedy Pet Photographer of the Year is only hours away, opening for entries on 16 February. To inspire you and make you laugh, the contest shares some of the 2022 images we haven’t seen so far. And yes, they’re just as cute and funny as the winning images.
A pair of “headless” cats wins 2022 Comedy Pet Photo Awards
It’s that time of the year again: some of my favorite photography contests are announcing the winners. The Comedy Pet Photo Awards is one of them, and the 2022 winners have just been revealed.
This year’s winner is Kenichi Morinaga with his photo of two cats sitting on a fence cheek to cheek… or better to say neck to neck. Of course, there are category winners as well, and we’re sharing all of them with you today.
This hilarious video says what we all think about Instagram’s “evolving”
After users’ backlash over Instagram’s “evolving” into TikTok, its CEO Adam Mosseri responded to users’ concerns in a video he posted on Twitter. It didn’t take long for Dan Toomey to make a parody video, and I just had to share it.
In the video, Dan pretends to give an announcement about Instagram’s latest changes. But unlike Mosseri, Dan is saying what I believe we’re all thinking – and he does it in a truly hilarious manner.
You don’t need a pet? Think twice with Comedy Pet Photography Awards 2022 finalists
Comedy Pet Photography Awards has just announced its 2022 finalists. It’s one of those competitions that always put a smile on my face, just like its sister contest dedicated to wildlife “comedians.” And just as always, the selection of shortlists will brighten up your day and make you get another (or your first) four-legged or feathered friend.
This filmaker has a unique relationship with her gimbal
Gimbals are cool. We know they’re cool. They were cool the day they were first introduced to the world and we know they’re still cool now because there are about three million different models of them out there now that just keep on selling. They can be overused, of course, and they definitely have their place, but most of us aren’t that attached to them. Most of us.
Not Russian filmmaker Olesya Zakharova, though, who goes by the name la_rushka on social media. She definitely has something of a… special relationship with her DJI Ronin SC2, as evidenced by her recent Instagram posts. Sure, lockdowns over the last couple of years have been hard on all of us, but this probably isn’t the answer. It is pretty hilarious, though.
A wildlife photographer’s collection of hilarious animal images
Shayne McGuire has a deep respect and love for everything living and that is the main reason why she became a wildlife photographer. She spends large parts of the year traveling, even to remote destinations such as Antarctica and Africa. Shayne captures bears, penguins, birds, horses and sometimes her husband. The latter often comes with a funny caption.
When the opportunity presents itself Shayne also shoots landscapes, even from the southernmost parts of the globe where ice and snow reign. It was in Antarctica she shot the stunning image of a super moon.
During her long career as a wildlife photographer Shayne has captured many humorous moments of the animals she portrays – perhaps unwittingly from the animal’s point of view, but they nevertheless put a huge smile on our human faces.
In the following Shayne generously shares some of her funniest moments behind the camera with DIYP and our readers. The image explanations and captions are hers.
“The Grand Tour” comically illustrated three types of wildlife photographers, and they nailed it
There are different types of photographers, that’s for sure. I don’t know if there are only two of them or as many as 30, but one can certainly take a comical twist on the differences between photographers. This is exactly what guys from The Grand Tour did. In this video, Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May got together, playing wildlife photographers who compare the gear they bought. It’s absolutely hilarious, and some of you will probably recognize themselves in it.
This hilarious video imagines what group therapy for photographers would look like
If you are a photographer (or any kind of creative, really), I’m pretty sure you’ve had some nightmare clients. And it’s no secret that those kinds of clients can sometimes drive us insane. So, Tony and Chelsea Northrup imagined what a group therapy would look like for photographers who’ve had enough of those clients from hell. Even though it’s a comedy video and it made me laugh, I still found it painfully relatable. Let’s see if you can relate to these stories, too.
