Look who’s trying to stay relevant again by copying features from other apps. You guessed it, it’s Instagram. This time, Meta is testing a chatbot for its “photo” app. Yup, just like the one on Snapchat and the one TikTok is currently testing. Coincidence?

The AI race is getting more heated, and more participants are joining in. But some seem to be joining forces, too, trying to rule the text-to-image kingdom.

During the 2023 I/O event, Google and Adobe announced a collaboration in this field. From now on, Google’s chatbot Bard will integrate the text-to-image generator Adobe Firefly. This way, users will be allowed to generate, edit and share images straight from Bard’s command line instead of using two tools separately.

Here’s what happens when AI writes your photoshoot setup

Here at DIYP, we’ve had a lot of fun playing with ChatGPT and asking it all sorts of stuff. Udi asked it to make a PRD for a perfect mirrorless camera, with some interesting results. I recently started testing it for crochet patterns and I have yet to make some stuff from AI-generated instructions. But worry not, the articles are still 100% human-generated. :)

Photographer Gavin Hoey wanted to know if ChatGPT could write a video script in his own style and give him instructions for a photoshoot. In this fun video from Adorama TV, Gavin shows you what the chatbot came up with.

I asked A.I to write a PRD for the perfect mirrorless camera

As A.I. is getting stronger and more potent, I wanted to see if it is capable of writing a Product Requirement Document (PRD) for the perfect mirrorless camera. Getting a good PRD for a new product is at the heart of camera brands’ work. You can think about it as an effort to decipher the needs of the market and then to bring a product that will meet those needs.

If the PRD is bad, no good camera will come out of it. Of course, a good PRD does not provide a guarantee to a good product, it can still fail on R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, Supply chain issues and a million other things. But a good PRD is the foundation on which a camera is built. And if the foundation sucks, no amount of R&D, logistics or marketing can turn it into a good camera.
