Capture One 22 v15.3.0 update brings Sony wireless tethering, magic eraser, and early iPad support

Capture One has announced the newest v15.3.0 update for Capture One 22. It brings with it a number of features for Sony and Canon shooters who want to shoot tethered and brings new tools like the Magic Eraser. It also sees a Tool Panel redesign, easier watermarking, support for the Canon EOS M50 II and EOS R5C along with a bunch of new Canon lenses.

The company is also gearing up to release its Capture One iPad app later this month and the latest Capture One 22 update lays some of the foundations for that with Cloud Transfer to easily sync up and send files over to your iPad. The latest update also brings a bunch of extra little features to help improve the overall user experience

Capture One has officially killed off Nikon, Fujifilm and Sony-specific versions of Capture One 22

Capture One has announced that they’ve officially discontinued their brand-specific versions of Capture One for Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm cameras. This means that now, there’s only one version available; The more expensive one. The change, they say, is due to “preparation for the launch of new and existing products, including a powerful new way to collaborate with Capture One Live, and the brand’s first iOS app with Capture one for iPad”.

It seems, though, that all may not be quite lost. If you own a perpetual license for the Sony, Nikon or Fujifilm version of Capture One 22 (which is still available to purchase today at B&H for $199), they will continue to work forever and Capture One says they’ll still see updates throughout the life of Capture One 22. However, you’ll get a free upgrade to Capture One Pro (which is $299) in early April 2022.

Capture One 22 lets you stitch panoramics and create merged HDR images – releasing on December 9th

Capture One has announced its new Capture One 22 software. Or at least, they’ve announced that it’s coming. With a release date of December 9th, it brings with it two pretty significant and highly requested features. The first is native panoramic stitching. Yes, that’s right. No longer do you need to export them out and bring them into another piece of software, you can now stitch from within Capture One itself straight from your raw files.

The new Capture One 22 is also able to create merged HDR files within the software as well, allowing you to exceed the dynamic range of just a single raw file for maximum versatility in high contrast scenes. Unfortunately, there’s no teaser video yet showing these new features in action, but they do have a live stream scheduled on their YouTube channel for December 9th when it’s officially released.
