Report: Canon discontinues EOS M200; another nail in the coffin of the EOS M lineup

Rumor has it that Canon is killing off its EOS M lineup, and this has been going around for a while. After all, the company already discontinued the EOS M6 Mark II without announcing the successor. As the latest addition to the rumor, it appears that Canon has now killed the EOS M200 as well, and now only the EOS M50 Mark II remains.

How to optimise your mirrorless camera tilt screen for waist level shooting with a piece of wood

If you just want to shoot from the waist then this is a tutorial for you.

The idea spans around taking a Canon EOS M200 (or a similar camera with a tilting screen) and adding a wedge-shaped piece of wood (40x55x800mm). Together they change this camera into a Hasselblad 907x lookalike. It’s something of a follow-up to my 2015 article on how to do this with a Canon Powershot N.

Canon launches EOS M200, a tiny $600 entry-level mirrorless camera: eye detection, 4K video and more

Two years after announcing the EOS M100, Canon is introducing its successor, the EOS M200. Canon hasn’t changed much in terms of design, but there are some other improvements you may find useful. First of all, the new M200 is capable of shooting 4K, and it has improved autofocus. Let’s dive in and see the remaining specs.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
