Canon 6D Mark II Rumored to Be Coming, But Not Before The 5D Mark IV

Most Canon-related rumors lately have been regarding the 5D Mark IV, with the latest claiming there will also be a Mark IVc video version, and we’ve seen very little being said about the other models.

There’s finally some new information about the 6D Mark II, stating it will be smaller and lighter, but once again Canon’s top attraction is involved – the 6D replacement will not come before the 5D Mark IV is already shipping.

If this and the rumor claiming the 5D Mark III replacement will be released only after the 5DS is shipping are true, Canon seems to be releasing new cameras from the top down with each camera being given a chance to sell before offering cheaper alternatives.

The Canon 5D Mark IV Will Come in Two Versions; One Dedicated to Video

There have been plenty of specs and rumors going around lately regarding the Mark III’s successor. Just yesterday we went over some of the rumors and why some previously unlikely specs seem more logical after the release of the C300 Mark II and the XC10.

One of the rumors that have been floating around the web is that the Mark III replacement will not have 4K video, but rather that the high-end video capability will be included in a dedicated 5D-series camera.

New info reveals a bit of new specs, but mainly brings back another rumor about sensor size and organizes all the rumored specs.

If true, we will be seeing two new cameras in a few months time – the 5D Mark IV and 5D Mark IVc.

The Crazy 5D Mark IV Specs Don’t Seem So Crazy Anymore

A couple of months ago we posted a set of specs supposedly belonging to a Canon test camera. Despite looking like a possible 1D X Mark II, that option was ruled out and it was mentioned that the camera could be testing an assortment of features that wouldn’t necessarily all show up in the same one body (or at all).

Another possibility was that the specs belong to the much anticipated 5D Mark IV, and recent rumors and developments seem to make this option a whole lot more logical now than it was back then.

So what kind of camera will the 5D Mark IV be?

Canon Exploring a 50MP EOS-1 Camera

Canon Rumors has been told that the company is looking into incorporating its new 50.6MP sensor, or a variation of it, into an EOS-1 style body.

While there’s no certainty at this point that such a camera will ever be produced, the move would allow users to enjoy the ergonomics, stronger battery and other advantages of the larger body.

Either way, should the camera materialize, it won’t happen until after the EOS-1D X Mark II is announced.

Canon 5D Mark IV Rumored to boast 28MP and 4K video. Release Date Depends on the Success of the 5Ds/R

According to the latest set of rumors from Northlight Images the 5D Mark IV will only be released once the 5DS/R is “shipping in reasonable numbers”, but either way it will not be before the fall of 2015.

A rumor from the Far East claims that the 5D Mark IV is due in August or September and will pack a 28 megapixel sensor, offer up to 9fps and pack 4K video.

The 5D Mark III replacement will also include a ‘significant’ advance in Canon’s flash control capabilities, as will the 1D X Mark II. These advanced capabilities will include adapters, controllers and firmware updates for certain models which will also be able to enjoy the new functionality.

There’s no word at the moment regarding built-in WiFi and GPS.

The Canon 5D Mark IV Will Be Very Controversial If These Specs Are True. 4K Included.

A list of specs supposedly belonging to a test camera has found its way to the web, and despite certain similarities to the 1D X, reports deny it is the 1D X Mark II.

The 5D Mark IV is expected towards the end of the year and hopes are high that the test camera is a draft of sorts.

But while 4K video, super high ISO and a substantially boosted burst mode will be greatly appreciated by some, a possible decrease in the sensor’s megapixels could rain on their parade.

Canon Rumored To Release 5D Mark IV Along With Two High Megapixel Cameras

Canon shooters are in for a real treat with not one or two but three new cameras said to be released.

According to the rumor, Canon will not only be releasing the much anticipated 5D Mark IV, but also the often-rumored-never-seen high megapixel camera – in two versions.

While this is absolutely awesome if true, I can’t help but wonder if Canon hasn’t been following Nikon’s experiences with the D800 series.
