Is the Canon EOS 90D relevant in the mirrorless cameras age?

Canon caved in. Up until a year ago, every Canon-oriented post was accompanied by a slew of comments demanding a good mirrorless from Canon. And finally, Canon caved in. Not to the comments on this blog, I guess, but to the unavoidable progress, and the demand from the masses. Canon released the EOS-R line. So does it make any sense for Canon to release a DSLR after already jumping into the mirrorless world? I mean, they just leaked a 90D DSLR….  Tech Radar thinks that the answer is yes, and has some compelling reasons. Leaked promo reveals major specs of upcoming Canon 90D and M6 Mark II cameras

Rumor has it that Canon is about to announce EOS 90D as soon as this month. But, it appears to be more than just a rumor. A promotional video for 90D has leaked, along with the one for M6 Mark II. Both videos show the looks of the upcoming cameras, but more importantly – they also reveal all major specs of both models.

Canon has killed off the EOS 7D series, report says

Recently, word of a newly certified Canon DC126801 32-megapixel APS-C sensor came out. It was suspected that this might find its way into potentially upcoming EOS 80D and/or EOS 7D Mark II replacement models. Now it looks like the latter option is well and truly being taken off the table.

Canon Rumors is reporting that Canon is killing off the EOS 7D line completely. Although it does seem like an EOS 90D (I’m assuming that’s what an 80D replacement will be called), might be a little beefier than we expected as a result, given the mention of the LP-E6 battery alongside the new 32MP sensor.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
