It always makes me smile to see a new camera from Jollylook. We’ve featured a couple of their other cameras in the past including the original Jollylook in 2017 as well as the smarter Jollylook Auto in 2020. Now, the Ukrainian company has relocated to Slovakia and is announcing their newest camera, the Jollylook Pinhole – a DIY pinhole camera kit you can build yourself that also takes Fuji Instax film.

Jollylook founder, Evgeniy Ivanic says about the project that “the Jollylook Pinhole DIY kit brings back the pleasure of the process of building a camera and taking a photograph”. As with past Jollylook cameras, the Jollylook Pinhole comes with a vintage-inspired design but incorporates modern Fuji Instax film for as instant an analogue process as you can get.

Canon has finally announced the Canon PowerShot PICK PTZ camera in the USA. This is Canon’s little AI-powered camera that was initially shown off as a concept camera way back in 2018. We got to take a look at it for ourselves at The Photography Show that year and it was eventually announced three years later in February 2021 – but only in Japan. Now, though, it’s come to the USA.

The PowerShot PICK is named as such as it uses AI to intelligently try to figure out what it should record and when it picks something it thinks is worth recording, that’s what it does. As a PTZ camera, it features pan, tilt and zoom, with face-detection and tracking features to follow subjects it finds interesting and automatically moves and zooms to follow the action.

Nikon has officially announced the new Nikon Z30, its entry-level APS-C Z mount mirrorless camera. As the de facto replacement for the Nikon D3x00 series DSLRs, the Z30 actually offers a little more. Being targeted primarily toward video content creators and vloggers, the Z30 offers a flippy-out LCD and shoots 4K UHD video at up to 30 frames per second and 1080p at up to 120fps.

The 20.9-megapixel sensor it contains lets you shoot video for up to 125 minutes and can capture raw stills at an impressive 11 frames per second with full autofocus and exposure. For vloggers, a flippy-out touchscreen LCD lets you see yourself or your subject at all times and easily adjust your settings while the full-time video AF mode helps to keep the focus where it’s needed throughout the shot.

Insta360 has seen a lot of success in the 360° camera market over the last few years and they’ve arguably become the leader in pocketable 360° cameras thanks to devices like the Insta360 ONE X2 (review here) and the Insta360 ONE RS (review here).

Today, though, Insta360 has announced that they’re going big with the new Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition. Co-engineered with Leica the new 1-Inch 360 mod lets you shoot 360° footage at up to 6K resolution using, as the name suggests, a pair of giant 1″ sensors.

Insta360 has today announced their newest camera… Sort of. It’s not all entirely new, as it uses the same core as the regular Insta360 ONE RS (review here), but it is a whole new look for that familiar core module with a giant 360° lens module that packs a pair of 1-inch sensors. The new Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition (review here) was co-engineered with Leica and it shoots up to 6K footage and 21-megapixel 360° stills.

While Insta360 has teamed up with Leica before, producing the 1-Inch standard camera module for the ONE R, this is the first time Leica has been involved in the creation of a 360° camera. And with a pair of 1-inch sensors, it’s going to capture better dynamic range and struggle much less in lower light conditions than smaller sensor 360° cameras.

To absolutely none of the usual Blackmagic fanfare, the company has today released the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2. It’s a fairly big upgrade over the original Pocket 6K, as it’s essentially a Pocket 6K Pro but without the built-in ND filter, which keeps the price of the 6K G2 at $1,999, same as the original 6K. This also means you get that 5″ tilting touchscreen display, NP-F batteries, optional EVF and Mini-XLR input.

Blackmagic has also announced the new Blackmagic Camera 7.9 Update today, adding 6K G2 support and adding an updated user interface to the Pocket 4K, 6K and 6K Pro, along with focus assist intensity adjustment, custom presets and LUTs are retained after software updates and improved lens and autofocus support. It also adds support for the Pocket 6K G2 to Blackmagic RAW.

Fujifilm has announced the new Fujifilm X-H2S mirrorless camera at the Fuji X Summit 2022. It features the new 5th generation stacked X-Trans BSI CMOS sensor that’s 4x faster than the previous generation along with the X-Processor 5, which represents a 30x speed increase over their first-generation processors. As with the previous Fujifilm X-H1, the X-H2S is geared primarily towards video shooters, with 6.2K resolution at up to 30fps. you also get 4K up to 120fps and 1080p up to 240fps. The Insta360 Sphere is an invisible 360° camera for drones that lets you create FPV-style footage in post

Mounting 360° cameras to drones has been a thing for a while now, but the one big issue with it is that there’s really nowhere you can mount a traditional 360° camera without getting the drone itself in shot somewhere. Well, Insta360 aims to solve that with the new Insta360 Sphere, a split lens system and mount that lets you make your drone completely invisible.

The lightweight frame mounts the two lenses of Insta360 Sphere on top of the drone above its propellers and underneath the drone below its feet. When the two halves are stitched together, you get a completely seamless 360° view with no drone in sight. Initially, it’s been released for the DJI Mavic Air 2 and DJI Air 2S, but it’s expected to come to other drones in the future.

In the words of the late, great Freddie Mercury… “It finally happened, happened, happened… It fiiiiinally happened!”. Yup, Canon has now officially gone APS-C with their RF mount mirrorless system with the announcement of not one but two new APS-C RF mount mirrorless cameras with the Canon EOS R7 and EOS R10. If this doesn’t mark the end of EOS M (even though Canon apparently denies it), then I don’t know what does.

The Canon EOS R7 is a 32.5-megapixel RF mirrorless camera, with up to 30 frames per second continuous shooting and full-sensor width 4K video at up to 60fps (a first for Canon APS-C!) and up to an insane 8-stops of hybrid lens/in-body image stabilisation. The EOS R10 is a lower-priced 24-megapixel APS-C body with no IBIS but inherits the AI autofocus system from the EOS R3.

Ricoh has announced their new WG-80, the latest in their line of rugged and waterproof compact cameras designed for underwater, outdoor and industrial photography. With the newest iteration, it actually sees a slight (very slight) redesign of the camera’s exterior, although the specifications remain pretty much identical to its predecessor (and its predecessor’s predecessor).

Aside from the slightly modified shell, the Ricoh WG-80 also sees a new macro LED ring light that Ricoh says is twice as bright as that found in the WG-70. They also say it has “enhanced functionality”, but it all appears to essentially be the same as the Ricoh WG-70.
