For Alicia Rius, photographing animals comes naturally. Her portfolio is brimming with gorgeous fine art photos, in which you’ll find an assortment of four-legged subjects ranging from horses to hairless cats. Rius was born in a small town in northeast Catalonia. She would earn a bachelor’s in Advertising and a master’s in International Marketing, before eventually taking a job as a project manager for an ad agency in Amsterdam. Not that the work at the ad agency was dull, but it left Rius wanting something more.[Read More…]
Inventive Video “Lightspeed” Combines Light Painting With Stop Motion Photography
It starts out a lot like most timelapses, a sweeping landscape, some cool star trails, a trip to a southern California desert and then BA-BAM! An illuminated skeleton pops up out of the ground and takes us on an adventure through the desert as he morphs into a menagerie of animals right before our eyes–no CGI required.
Lightspeed is photographer, Darren Pearson (aka Darius Twin’s), moving creation that combines stop motion photography with his mad light painting skills to create a radiant animation. Lightspeed is the follow up video to his similar stop motion clip, Light Goes On, which you can also watch below, but first, take a look at the artist’s latest work:[Read More…]
Awesome Timelapse of North America Made With A Custom 3D Printed Dolly (And How You Can Print Your Own)
After 12 months of hiking through California, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alaska the team behind Upthink Lab have released a five minute long timelapse of their adventures that features some pretty impressive moments. Wanderment is meant to create a juxtaposition between the different landscapes of North America, a purpose the filmmakers pushed further by switching between color and black and white footage throughout the clip (all of which is in 4k).
You’ll be treated to an array of vivid landscapes in addition to some really cool macro slow motion of growing mushrooms, which is reason enough to watch the timelapse. There’s also an interesting transition at about 1:52 where the camera makes a fluid transition from underwater to above the surface. The shot was captured with a Canon T3i (with Magic Lantern) in an underwater housing mounted on a custom motion control dolly.[Read More…]
Into The Night Will Motivate You To Go Outside And Take Photos During The Next Blue Hour
After sharing Roy Two Thousand’s Burning Man timelapse a couple weeks ago, I decided that I could probably cut back on my timelapse addiction for a while. After all, it would be pretty hard to top the slick camerawork of R2K. At least that’s what I thought at the time. Then I happened to come across this beauty, Into The Night, which was created by Barcelona based photographer/cinematographer, Jordi de Temple and explores both, Barcelona and California. Jordi throws in some low lying clouds, a little milky way action, sweet motion blurs, some fun tilt shift scenes, multiple holy grails for good measure, and some profoundly gorgeous and cinematic wipe transitions. Even the musical arrangement was spot on.
I know I said I was trying to avoid relapsing back into a timelapse hole, but…Wow. I would have felt guilty had I not shared this one with you all. Enjoy!

This King’s Canyon Timelapse Is A Display Made For Kings
Videographer Gavin Heffernan shot KINGS at Kings Canyon National Park in California. They shot for two days discovering some of the most amazing night skies.
While the shoot was mostly peaceful, the wildlife of the park did come over to say hello, including a wild bear that came to check if shooting with the full frame EOD 6D was as good as their whisper in the meadows. If you read this before you started watching make sure to go full screen screen and turn the volume up. You can than hit the jump for the BTS and bears.
