This calendar will give you a photographic assignment for each day of 2017
A week ago, we posted a 52 challenge for 2017, basically it’s a photographic task a week to help you evolve as a photographer. If you want to take it to the next level Photoblog are offering a similar concept. A printable calendar with a-task-a-day for the entire year of 2017.
The idea is simple, each day has a task and as you complete the task you cross the day of the calendar.
Personally, I think that 365 projects can be overwhelming at times, so having some guidance is a good thing. On the other hand, no one will spank you come up with a very creative interpretation to a task, or decide to swap a task with something of your own. You can use the calendar as a double duty constant reminder / idea list.
You can download the calendar here, and read a bit more about the project here.
P.S. if you want to go the regular 365 project route, have a look at our 365 project guide here.
2017 Pirelli calendar changes direction and shows beauty without retouching and makeup
There is hardly anyone who hasn’t heard of Pirelli. Even us who can’t drive have heard of this tire brand – thanks to their famous calendar.
The company dates back to 1872, but the calendar was created in 1962. The sales had dropped, and they needed something to boost it. At that time, sexy girlie calendars were very popular among car manufacturers and mechanics. So Pirelli decided to create a calendar with semi-undressed women, but to raise it on a higher level. They hired fashion models and famous photographers – and the rest is history. For years, the calendar has been almost synonymous with soft porn. But they chose a different approach for 2016 and 2017 calendars. Instead of objectifying women, they empowered them.
2014 World Cup Calendar Is an Amazing Work Of Lighting, Photography & Compositing
Getting photograpger Tim Tadder and CGI master Mike Campau on the same project is probably as high-end as it gets. THe two recently collaborated on the production of the 2014 World Cup Calendar.
The project involved shooting 12 of the common moves done in football (soccer if you live in the USA) by gorgeous models.
Tim shares that “The challenge was to create dynamic images of the women in action but still have a high level of female sexuality. There was a balance between being true to the “move” but at the same time showing the best assets of the models“
