Instagram has just expanded its range of anti-bullying features. From now on, you can tell people who don’t follow you to buyy off without even interacting with them. Instagram allows you to limit DMs and comments from people who don’t follow you, while at the same time guilt-tripping bullies even more than before.

When it’s not working on a dedicated platform for kids, Instagram works hard on suppressing bullying on its regular platform most of us use. With its new set of tools, Instagram wants to make it easier to get rid of abusive DMs. in fact, you’ll now be able to block someone from harassing you even from a new account they create.

Instagram to permanently ban accounts who bully others through direct messages

Instagram has just announced that it’s tightening up its abuse policy. From now on, if someone abuses you through direct messages, their account will be deleted permanently. And more than that, Instagram will also delete any other account they make trying to get around the platform’s messaging restrictions.

A few months ago, Instagram began testing “Restrict,” a feature that lets you shadowban anyone who is bullying you on the platform. After the tests, it has now been rolled out to anyone. “Restrict” allows you to quietly protect your account from bullies, while still keeping an eye on them and take additional actions if you need to.

Instagram will FINALLY warn you before disabling your account

As an attempt to make Instagram a friendlier place, the company has introduced a new policy regarding account disabling. From now on, Instagram will detect if you violate its policies, and warn you before disabling your account. This means that more accounts will be subject to deletion. But on the other hand, you’ll be notified if you’re in the risk of being banned, so you can make your future posts appropriate.
