Blue Streak

Tiffen has announced its new Blue Streak filters available in a range of standard cinema filter sizes. The filters are designed to simulate the look of anamorphic flare without requiring an anamorphic lens. Of course, it doesn’t do anything to change the shape of the bokeh, but you’ll get lots of blue streaks.

The filter uses Tiffen’s ColorCore process to laminate and protect the filter in between two sheets of optical-grade glass. They’re available in two different line spacing distances of 2mm and 3mm to create different looks depending on what you need. Rotating the filter allows you to change the angle of that flare to taste.
