If you are like everyone else stuck at home, trying to live stream, you probably know about live switching. A switcher is a box that lets you control multiple cameras; The live part enables you to push the stream into Facebook or Youtube. Black magic has a basic ATEM mini for four cameras for $300. Now Feelworld has the LIVEPRO L1 – a four-camera switcher with a frigging LCD for the same price.
Blackmagic Design has just announced the new Atem Mini Pro, a streaming-focused update to the popular live streaming switcher announced at IBC last year. To go along with it, the Blackmagic Camera 6.9 update for the Pocket 4K and Pocket 6K adds direct support for the Atem Mini Pro, letting you remotely control and match up to four of the cameras from the new live production switcher.
Blackmagic CEO and co-founder, Grant Petty went on a live stream earlier to make the new announcements. If you haven’t seen the Atem Mini yet, Grant goes into a pretty in-depth overview of what the original does before talking about the new Atem Mini Pro about 15 minutes in.
While we were at IBC 2019, we heard Blackmagic had a new toy for live streamers. The Blackmagic Atem Mini. It’s a four HDMI device switcher designed specifically for live streaming with multiple cameras or other devices with HDMI outputs. We went over to their stand during the show to check it out and find out more about it.
