Forests are magical places by definition; this is why so many of our childhood stories are situated in them. Bioluminescent Forest takes the magical and makes magical-er.
Using a computer and a powerful projector Friedrich van Schoor and Tarek Mawad were able to animate the forest into a vivid and fairy-like existence.

Bioluminescence is a phenomena in which leaving organisms emit light. While this effect is not really possible in a high speed photography setup, can be very well faked with the following recipe.
Usually we use a wide array of battery powered lights and fireworks to create light paintings. This is not the case with the photographs below that were “light painted” by Bioluminescence algae.
