People will do all kinds of stupid s*it just to take an Instagram photo, capture a video, or be on TV. A woman trying to do one of these things recently ruined Tour de France for everyone involved. She and a sign she was holding caused one of the worst crashes in Tour de France’s 118-year-old history. It was all caught on camera, and the woman was even arrested for her stunt.
This is why you should keep a safe distance when shooting action sports
This video shows why you don’t mix cycling and drones
Irresponsible and incautious use of drones can cause many harms and problems. From crashing it into a building, to smashing someone’s head (or your own) with it, drones are definitely far from useful and fun if you’re not careful.
This time, some genius flew a drone near the cycling race. The drone smashed into a bicycle, causing one of the cyclists to fly over the handlebars and severely hit the ground.
Photographer Causes Horrific Crash at Italy’s Largest Bicycle Race
The Giro d’Italia (Tour of Italy) is the most important stage race, after the Tour de France, but unfortunately the sixth stage that took place on Thursday will be remembered due to the unfortunate crash.
Near the end of the race an oblivious, and irresponsible, photographer leaned over the barrier to try and snap a photo with what appears to be a Canon 70-200mm lens. The result was Italian cyclist Daniele Colli crashing and breaking his arm (in a gruesome almost 90° angle. Pics below so be warned), and several other cyclists having a close encounter with the ground. One of them was the race leader, Alberto Contador, who dislocated his shoulder.
It is unknown if the photographer has been identified and if any action has been taken against him.
