Hey guys, this is Von Wong, Montreal Based Conceptual Photographer. I recently did a Tango themed photoshoot around the Old Port here in Montreal. Udi thought it would be interesting to provide a little more detail than in the actual Behind the Scenes video developing a little more into specific shots, lighting techniques and the dynamics of doing an unplanned photoshoot with a small team so…hope you guys enjoy!

Superhero Light Painting With Sparkles

Way back we featured a tutorial about using sparkles and long exposure to lightpaint a car.

Photographer Benjamin Von Wong took this to the next level and sparklepaints a superhero.

The big difference IMHO is the use of flash to freeze motion with the super hero shots.

Shooting The Wettest Band You’ll Ever See

Photographer Benjamin Von Wong sent over a couple of vids showing how he shot Triggered Response, A rock band from Montreal.

To go with the rocky band, Ben and Eva Jinn Productions got them completely drenched and splashed. All while keeping both photography gear and band gear safe.

The video is divided into two parts: a behind the scenes which explains the thought and execution of the shoot itself and a quick Photoshop composite primer that explains how the images were combined. vids after the jump.[Read More…]

A few days ago, Benjamin Von Wong (flickr) posted a photograph called rejection to his photostream. It was quite an extra ordinary piece of work in my mind.

There was a small bit of info in the captions that caught my eyes: “The Behind the Scenes is actually ready… Eva is just waiting for me to finish up the edits”

I guess Eva is done waiting, because f-stoppers just posted the very cool behind the scenes on this one. [Read More…]

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
