We already know that Instagram’s become just a merge of many other apps, but at this point, it’s getting ridiculous. Its latest feature is called “Candid,” and it lets you capture and share what you’re doing right now, with both the front and the back camera taking the photo. Sounds familiar? Yup, it’s the same as BeReal, which is, ironically, marketed as “anti-Instagram.”
Instagram’s latest feature copies “anti-Instagram” app BeReal
Earlier this year, we told you about a new social media app BeReal, nicknamed “anti-Instagram.” Its popularity has been increasing and it recently hit the #1 spot among Apple Store’s free apps. Can you guess what happened? Yup, you’re right, Instagram tried to copy it!
While it’s been known lately for copying TikTok, Instagram took a break from it and changed its focus. Just like BeReal, Instagram now also has a double camera feature that captures your surroundings and yourself simultaneously.
This anti-Instagram photo sharing app wants you to post a photo of whatever you’re doing
Is it just me or is everyone sick of Instagram these days? The once photography-centric sharing app has now morphed into an advertisement heavy look-at-me-fest with an emphasis on video, not even still photographs. Well never mind, because there’s another option in town, the app called BeReal which only lets you post one image a day.
It’s actually not a new app, however. It was launched in 2020 but recently has gained a lot more users and a large following from Gen Zers.
