If you ask me, photographing babies and children is one of the most difficult tasks. It’s not easy to have them to pose, and it can be quite challenging to make them smile sometimes. But photographer Jonathan Suckling sure has a unique way of making their little models smile and laugh. Heck, this goofy dancing even made me smile!
When you reach a certain age, all your friends will start having babies. And of course, all of them will start sharing gazillions of their images on Facebook. Okay, babies are cute (sometimes), but that’s just too many baby photos at the same time! If your News Feed is swarmed by baby photos – there’s now a plugin that lets you block them.
It’s November, but let’s face it, Christmas is gonna be here in no time. So, a Shelbyville, Indiana-based photographer Amy Haehl recently posted a baby photo inspired by the iconic movie A Christmas Story. But instead of evoking holiday spirit, the photo caused a flood of negative comments because of a wooden BB gun the baby boy is holding in his arms.
If you are a photographer and a parent, your child is probably your favorite lil’ model. Photographer Christopher Urena recently had a baby boy, and he’s hoping to pass down the love for photography to him. So, he took a photo of him that melted my heart straight away. Meet Elijah Ferdinand, the youngest and the cutest little photographer you’ll ever see.
What if you could be anything you ever dreamed of. Actually, what if you could do it in your sleep. Photographer Laura Izumikawa is doing just this for her baby girl Joey, and the best thing is… when she gets older she’ll be able to look back on so many adventures.
The concept is very easy, when Joey’s asleep, her photographer mom, Laura, dresses her up as if she is in a wild adventure. Then she takes a photo. Those photos are posted to Laura’s Instagram account for the world to enjoy. And enjoy they shall. Or at least give a big smile.
Ever since she started the account it grew to have over 306,000 followers and rapidly growing with recent exposure from Huffington Post and other media outlets.
Photographing your children as they grow and blossom into the young adults they will become is common to almost all parents. Some parents, however, like to think a little differently.
Commercial photographer Grace Chon is one of those people. With assistance from the family’s 7 year old rescue dog, Zoey, Grace created an adorable series of photographs of her young son, Jasper.
Megan Rion of Imagine That Photography was out in the woods photographing a one-month-old baby when a deer suddenly appeared.
Megan told DIYP that this was not the first lucky customer to receive a surprise visit by this very deer, but this was the first time the deer appeared for a baby shoot.
Future photographers of this baby will have a hard time beating what is probably the best photo he’ll ever get.
