Learn how to use sound design to add massive impact to your videos

Sound design is an often-ignored part of video production for many people outside of the world of big movie studios. But it’s an important part of the overall production that can add a lot of value to the end result. It’s not just for feature-length movies, either. It can be used very effectively in your vlogs and travel videos, too.

In this video, filmmaker Bryn North talks us through the process of adding sound to your videos. To demonstrate that you can do it with just about anything, Bryn downloaded a bunch of clips from ArtGrid and cut them together. Then he walks us through the types of sounds and why he chose certain shots for certain clips.

Artgrid is a stock footage service offering up to 8K raw videos

Following the recent announcement, Artlist has launched a full-featured beta version of its stock footage service Artgrid. It promises to “reinvent stock footage,” offering up to 8K stock footage to filmmakers, unlimited downloads and use, the option of commercial use and much more.

Artlist plans to reinvent the stock footage game with new Artgrid service offering up to 8K RAW video

When you can’t shoot it yourself, finding footage to add a little something to your video can be difficult or expensive. Popular royalty-free music subscription service, Artlist, is looking to change that, though. They want to apply the same model they use for their music to stock video footage with their new service launching in Spring, Artgrid.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
