When Adobe launched Photoshop for iPad, the users were not really pleased with the existing features. Adobe was quick to announce the roadmap of future updates, and the company is fast to deliver them, too. The first update has just brought the AI-powered Select Subject feature to Photoshop on iPad, and there are a few other improvements as well.
Adobe releases roadmap of new features for Photoshop on iPad
Adobe’s Photoshop for iPad was finally launched earlier this month, but the users were… well, not exactly thrilled by the existing features. Adobe admitted that the app needs improvements, announcing that some features were yet to come. And now, the roadmap of the upcoming features has been revealed so you know what to expect from Photoshop on iPad in the near future.
Photoshop CC for iPad is nearly here, but it will be missing some key features
It’s over a year since it was first reported that Photoshop was coming to the iPad, promising pretty much the complete version of the software you get on the desktop, but for your Apple tablet. Now, Photoshop CC for iPad is almost ready to be launched but according to a report on Bloomberg, it has some key features missing.
I bought the new iPad Pro so you don’t have to!
I’m no stranger to the iPad. In fact, it once caused me not to get a job at an Apple store shortly after college. I was asked in an interview, “What do you think of the new iPad,” and I answered honestly (mistake number one in a job interview I would learn):
“I’m not sure how I feel about it, it doesn’t really do what I would want it to do.”
I didn’t get a call back for a second interview. Little did I know this would be the start of my rocky relationships with tablets.
In 2012 I bought refurbished a 32GB “New iPad.” With its retina screen, I told myself it would be the perfect portfolio alternative, and I could make myself look so cool by bringing a digital device to a client meeting, instead of a printed book.
The new Apple iPad Pro lets you edit 3GB Photoshop files with “zero lag”
So, Apple’s done its latest round of product announcements. Amongst them, there’s a new iPad Pro, and it seems to have seen some pretty significant changes over the previous models. It’s had a huge “next generation” performance boost, with a new design offering a substantially larger screen ratio. But probably the biggest change is that the Lightning port has disappeared. It’s been replaced by a Type-C USB 3.1 Gen 2 socket.
Adobe is finally bringing full blown Photoshop to the iPad
Yes, that’s right, it’s finally coming. Photoshop is to become an iPad app. Apple’s dream of turning the iPad Pro into a desktop replacement is potentially about to become a little more true thanks to a report from Bloomberg today. All I can say is, it’s about time!
Apple iPad Pro Versus Microsoft Surface Pro
We’re talking about a toy versus a tool here – iPads are for ordering Sushi, the Surface Pro is for actual work.
I wouldn’t normally start an article with my conclusion, but in this case I though it would be fun to take a little bit of a lighthearted look at the differences between the newly announced iPad Pro versus the year old Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
While the iPad Pro will no doubt gather all the celebrity glitz from the usual suspects – the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (and the soon to be announced Microsoft Surface Pro 4) are so far superior when it comes to performance and real world productivity it hardly seems fair to even compare the two.
