Announced last October, the Accsoon SeeMo is an unassuming little box to let you use your iPhone or iPad as a field monitor for your camera. GoPro has announced Open GoPro, a new platform for software developers to modify the behaviour of their GoPro Hero 9 Black cameras to better suit their needs or to build it into another product through the use of WiFI or Bluetooth. The Open GoPro API is hosted by GitHub and is targeted towards developers, tinkerers and hackers that want other devices to be able to interact with the GoPro Hero 9. Full documentation is provided, along with tutorials and some complete demos in various languages including C, C#, Python, and Swift.

However, while Instagram might be regarded as the web’s largest repository of cats drinking coffee on fixed wheel bicycles, it’s also an integral component of many companies’ and professional photographers’ social media marketing strategies. As a consequence, a great many photos shared there aren’t smartphone-snapped-shots conveying a sense of the here-and-now; they are carefully selected images that conform to a prescribed narrative or aesthetic.
