Specs released for Aputure’s new 100D/X and 200D/X LED lights – shipping starts next week

Yup, the pre-order’s over. Aputure’s new Amaran 100D, 100X, 200D and 200X LED lights are now available to just go and buy. And they’ve released the complete and final specs for all four of the units now, too. Also, the first reviews of the new lights are out, and we’ve included one below.

There are essentially two different powers (100W and 200W) available in two different colour varieties. The “D” flavour lights, available in both powers, are daylight balanced, whereas the “X” versions (also available in both powers) is a bicolour, allowing you to switch between tungsten and daylight at will.

Aputure releases LS 600D Pro and announces Amaran 100D/X & 200D/X Bowens mount LED lights

It’s a busy day of announcements for Aputure today. Their new Lightstorm 600D Pro LED light is now available to purchase, and they’ve also announced four new lights in the Aputure Amaran range; the 100D, 100X, 200D and 200X Bowens mount continuous LED lights.

The Aputure LS 600D Pro, as the name suggests, is a monstrously powerful LED light, offering equivalent output to a 1200W HMI or Joker 800 with a CRI and TLCI both over 96. The Amaran lights are somewhat less powerful and Aputure hasn’t released much information about them yet, but here’s what we do know.

John Aldred: from diyphotography.netJohn Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic: from diyphotography.netDunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
