Interfit’s new Honey Badger strobe looks an awful lot like AlienBee’s DigiBee

Now, we’re not suggesting Interfit just ripped off the design of Alien Bees’ Digibee lights. But you have to admit, the resemblance is just uncanny. Not to mention the fact that the specs are also pretty close. As is the name. In fact, the only real difference appears to be the Interfit “Honey Badger” has a Bowens mount on the front.

The Alien Bees lights have such a distinct design that it’s hard to imagine this is a coincidence. And if the appearance didn’t convince you, the specs and price are bound to.

Paul C. Buff updates its product lineup with two new DigiBee flash units

Paul C. Buff have today announced their first new flash units since the Einstein six years ago with the launch of the DigiBee DB800 and DB400 studio strobes.

Essentially, they’re digital AlienBees, but smaller, and with a few cool new features. Photographer Nino Batista got his hands on the first two off the production line and put together this video to test their limits and offer up his review on how well they perform.

When An Alienbees Studio Flash Thinks It’s A Smoke Machine

Alienbees are known to be solid and reasonably priced studio flashes, offering great value for your money.

Paul C. Buff, the Man Behind White Lightning, AlienBees and Einstein Flashes, Dies at Age 78.

Buff, through a company carrying his name, has been creating studio flashes since 1981 when he introduced the game-changing White Lightning flash.

In 2001, realizing the potential of the digital photography revolution and the changing market, he started selling the smaller, cheaper and friendlier AlienBees Flashes.

His most recent flash unit, the Einstein E640, has also been a huge success and it used by amateurs and professionals alike.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
