First Photoshop CC Update Fixes ‘Salt Line’ Artifacts and Crashing

We all like a little salt and pepper every now and then, but we aren’t huge fans of Photoshop adding it to our photos at random.  Last month we dug into how Photoshop CC 2015 was adding salt-like artifacts to images when using the healing brush.  Needless to say, this didn’t go over well with photographers using the feature.

Yesterday, Adobe released Photoshop 2015.0.1, a much-needed update that corrected this issue along with a variety of others, including crashing issues for both Mac and Windows users.

Adobe Fixes Bugs in First Premiere Pro CC 2015 Update

The 2015 release of Adobe Creative Cloud brought many new features, and for that we were happy.  Now we (or, at least I) am happy once again.

Adobe has just rolled out the first official update to Premiere Pro CC 2015.  Along with fixes to audio and workflow problems, the new update promises to correct performance and stability issues.  That is what makes me happy.

See the Dramatic Results of Lightroom’s Dehaze Feature On Underwater Photos

DIYP has been following the Lightroom/Photoshop dehaze saga since before it was released in the public update.  Now, we bring you the next installment.

Photographer Christian Mairitsch (who also has some breathtaking landscape images in his Flickr stream) decided to go below the surface with the new feature.  Literally.  In a dynamic proof of its capabilities, Christian put the feature to the test on underwater images, with excellent results.

See What Adobe’s Dehaze Feature Does To a Photo of a Blizzard

Adobe’s new dehaze feature has created some buzz around the Interwebs and yielded some interesting results for photographers.  In another layer to this suspenseful saga, photographer Bimal Ramdoyal shared some of his own results with the new tool.

Taking a photo from a blizzard, Bimal upped the dehaze slider to +90 in Photoshop to see what it would do to the snow swirling through the air, and the dramatic results are quite impressive.

10 Adobe CC Shortcut Cheat Sheets to Make Your Life Easier

Cheat sheets are wonderful, especially if you’re actually taking a test.  (I only speak from hearsay, of course…)  But, they can also be invaluable when trying to maintain a speedy workflow within an application.

With the recent release of the 2015 updated Adobe CC, it was only a matter of time until the keyboard shortcut cheat sheets started pouring in.  Thanks to Jamie Spencer of SetUpABlogToday who posted a whole slew of updated cheat sheets, there is no excuse for going the long way around Robin Hood’s barn again.

Applying Photoshop’s Dehaze On a Haze-Free Image Yields Spectacular Results

The latest release of Adobe CC has brought with it a number of exciting updates to the world’s most popular image editing and creative publishing suite.  Among those updates is the new “dehaze” feature in both Lightroom and Photoshop Camera Raw.  While various techniques have perviously existed to accomplish the same thing, now users have a simplified and intuitive process for eliminating that annoying haze and breathing more life into their photos.

Though it is almost as interesting to see what applying dehaze on an (almost) haze free photo will do. Reddit user Mefaso shared his experiment and I have to admit that it is quite awesome if not over done.

Adobe Slaps Creative Professionals In the Face – Launches Re-Branded Microstock Content Leach

Back when Adobe acquired Fotolia I think most creative professionals were really excited to see what Adobe had in mind for the stock industry.

I mean, a player as big as Adobe had the power to totally re-imagine the sale of stock photography, video and illustration for the benefit of their corporate bottom line and their loyal customer base (after all, creative professionals are the reason Adobe exists in the first place).

But, with todays update to Adobe Creative Cloud, instead we get Adobe Stock – in my opinion, nothing more than a re-branded microstock blood sucking content leach and a slap in the face to creative professionals everywhere.

Adobe Announces 2015 Creative Cloud Release, Unveils New Features

Adobe has announced their 2015 release of Creative Cloud, packed with new feature and updates that are enough to make almost anyone want to switch over to the subscription platform.

In addition to updates for video, photo editing, and image manipulation, Adobe has added features such as CreativeSync to give you a seamless workflow between mobile and desktop applications.
