Adobe launches Productions and Team Projects to let you remotely collaborate on videos

Back in January, Adobe announced Productions – a new tool which allows Premiere Pro CC users to more easily collaborate in post-production and editing. They say that it improves the workflow for feature films, broadcast and web-based content while working in teams in various locations, but also when working on your own, too. Now, Productions and Team Projects are available for Premiere Pro and After Effects CC users, the latter of which is free until August 2020.

Apple has released a beta that adds ProRes RAW support to Adobe apps for Windows

ProRes RAW was lauded as a high-end raw video codec for high-end video shooters and editors. But it had one fatal flaw; You could only edit it with a Mac. Well, now that appears to be changing as Apple has released a beta of Apple ProRes RAW for Windows which adds ProRes RAW support to some of the applications in the Adobe CC suite including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Rush and Media Encoder.

You can now get two months of Adobe CC apps for free

Two days ago, Adobe announced free CC apps for students and teachers. But it appears that the rest of us can now get two months of Adobe Creative Cloud for free. The latest offer on the company’s website enables you to get a free subscription for two months, and it’s pretty simple to get it if you’d like to try.

Adobe offers free online access to CC programs for schools impacted by the coronavirus

The coronavirus outbreak has had schools all over the world closed down, moving classes to online platforms whenever possible. Adobe has decided to offer free at-home access to its Creative Cloud programs to all students and educators who are now forced to teach and learn from home.

You can now send huge Creative Cloud assets with Gmail using this Adobe addon

Adobe’s Creative Cloud is a wonderful tool for many photographers and filmmakers out there who want to get some remote backup of their work and easily transfer it between their devices. It’s also big on the collaboration features, with Adobe reporting over a million such users taking advantage of it.

Now, Adobe is making it even easier to collaborate and share files from your Creative Cloud storage with collaborators and clients. They’ve been working together with Google Cloud to integrate Adobe CC into the G Suite (including Gmail) to let you quickly send and receive assets between Creative Cloud accounts over email.

Canon cameras can’t tether with Lightroom with the latest macOS update

If you are a Canon camera and Mac computer user and rely on tethered shooting – don’t update to the latest version of macOS Catalina just yet. MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 doesn’t seem to support tethered shooting in Lightroom and other apps, and there’s currently no workaround.

Adobe CC apps are available again in Venezuela

Earlier this month, Adobe deactivated all Venezuelan Creative Cloud accounts due to the US sanctions. But here’s some good news for all creatives in Venezuela: your Adobe subscription is active again. After discussions with the US government, Adobe has been granted a license to provide all of its Digital Media products and services in Venezuela despite the sanctions.

Adobe data breach exposed almost 7.5 million Creative Cloud accounts to the public

Adobe was recently hit with a massive data breach, exposing nearly 7.5 million Creative Clouds accounts to the public. Reportedly, a database containing sensitive user info was easily accessible to anyone through a web browser.

Mac users, don’t upgrade to macOS Catalina if you’re using Photoshop or Lightroom

Earlier in the week, Apple released macOS Catalina. But if you’re using Photoshop or Lightroom CC on your Mac, you may want to put the upgrade on hold. Adobe users have reported numerous problems with Photoshop and Lightroom after upgrading the system. And Adobe itself has confirmed that these two programs still aren’t compatible with the latest macOS.

Adobe gets a dose of piracy after blocking its apps in Venezuela

As a consequence of Executive Order 13884, Adobe has announced the deactivation of all accounts in Venezuela. Since there doesn’t seem to be another solution and there will be no refunds, revolted Venezuelans are now reportedly turning to piracy.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
