Pergear has announced a new lens. This time, they’re targeting macro with the new Pergear 60mm f/2.8 Mk2 2x Macro lens. It’s available for pretty much all of the mirrorless mounts, including Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E, Leica L, Fuji X and even Micro Four Thirds.

Despite being available in the smaller Micro Four Thirds mount, it is a full-frame lens, offering full-frame coverage on other systems. It provides up to 2x magnification with a minimum focus distance of 19.1cm.

Meike announces 60mm f/2.8 macro lens for E, X, Z, EF-M, RF & M43 mounts

Meike has announced their new 60mm f/2.8 APS-C manual focus macro lens. It’s a very low-budget lens, with a price tag of only $189.99, and as such, it probably won’t be able to compete with higher-end (and autofocus) lenses with a similar field of view. But, if keeping costs as low as possible and having a play to see if you even like macro is important, this lens might be worth having a look at.

Aside from being pretty inexpensive as macro lenses go, it’s available for six different camera mounts. Sony E, Fuji X, Nikon Z, Canon EF-M, Canon RF and Micro Four Thirds. Despite the fact that the lens is available for Nikon Z and Canon RF, it is an APS-C lens. So, if you’re trying to use it on full-frame bodies, you’ll definitely need to do some cropping!

Canon 85mm f/1.2L II and 70-200mm f/4L IS II the latest victims in EF mount DSLR lens purge

Pentax might be clinging onto DSLRs for dear life, but if it wasn’t already clear the Canon had pretty much abandoned its DSLRs – what with the 7D line discontinued and the EOS R5 and EOS R6 effectively becoming replacements for the 5D and 6D DSLR lines respectively – I think their decision to kill off a number of popular higher-end lenses speaks volumes.

According to a report on Canon Rumors, who is also running a tally of recently discontinued Canon lenses, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM II and the somewhat legendary Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L USM II are now also discontinued. Unlike previously killed off EF lenses, though, at least the two new ones on the list have RF equivalents.

Three new Zenit lenses were recently rumored for Sony E-mount. Two of them have now been announced: the Zenitar 60mm f/2.8 macro and the Selena 58mm f/1.9. However, it looks like we’ll have to wait for the Sony version some more. The 58mm f/1.9 will be available in Nikon F and Canon EF, while the 60mm f/2.8 macro lens will only come in Nikon F.

Zenit is expected to announce some new lenses in September or October, according to various reports. Sony Alpha Rumours says that three lenses will be announced in October, including a 35mm f/2.0, a 58mm f/1.8 and a 60mm f/2.8 Macro – all for Sony E Mount.

Photar, however, believes that the 60mm Macro will be getting shown off “in the fall” and specifically states the 35mm f/2 as coming in September. They also say that the 60mm f/2.8 Macro will be for Canon EF and Nikon F, with no mention of Sony.
