A new patent from Sigma, spotted by the folks at Hi Lows Note, describes three new full-frame lenses designed for mirrorless camera systems – the Leica L and Sony E mount systems. The lenses described by the patent are a 14mm f/2, a 14mm f/2.8 and a rather intriguing 12mm f/2.8.

There is currently a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art series lens available for both Leica L and Sony E mounts, however, it’s essentially their DSLR lens with an extended barrel to fix the flange distance. The patent suggests a new replacement model could be imminent!

Samyang has announced updates to two of its most popular manual focus lenses for DSLRs with the new MF 14mm f/2.8 Mk2 and MF 85mm f/1.4 Mk2 lenses. Although they are designed primarily for DSLRs, coming in Nikon F and Canon EF mounts, they’re also available in some mirrorless mounts, too, including Sony E, Fuji X, Canon EF-M and Micro Four Thirds.

The new Mark II updates come with focus lock and a “de-clicked” aperture to ensure you hit your absolute sweet spot with fine analogue adjustments and once you’re there you can lock it off. They both have 9 aperture blades for better bokeh and they’re both weather-sealed to help prevent dust and moisture from entering the lens.

Although Samyang have been making manual focus F Mount lenses for a while now, their autofocus efforts seem to have been elsewhere. And while Sony and Canon might have drawn all of Samyang’s attention in the past, it looks like that’s changing.

Today, Samyang has announced the new Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 F for Nikon F Mount. Yes, their first entry into the world if Nikon autofocus is a 14mm ultrawide full frame lens. A lens that has the entire world in focus once you’ve focused more than 5ft in front of you.
