Fujifilm ‘pauses’ sales of color film in Japan

Fujifilm announced that they are no longer accepting orders for a variety of film stocks in Japan. The announcement includes color negative 35mm film and reversal film in both 35mm and 120 formats. The reason given is due to a short supply of raw materials needed for manufacturing.

In total, nine different types of film are affected, and it’s likely that stocks in Japan will begin to get low as production ceases. However, the films should still be available from overseas supplies, at least while stocks last.

If you’re looking into upgrading to medium format, this will be a great place to start. But also, it’s great if you’re looking to cut back on the film cost as it will be a more affordable option than other 120mm color film rolls from Kodak.

Ilford temporarily suspends production due to the coronavirus outbreak

In a recent statement, the company has announced that its factory is staying operational. But there’s more: it seems that they couldn’t resist mocking panic-buyers of toilet paper. Among other things, the statement encourages you to stockpile rolls, but “those that go into a camera.”

Lomomod No. 1 review: a fun and frustrating DIY cardboard camera with a liquid-filled lens

When the Lomomod No. 1 was first announced, I had the honor of covering the news for DIYP and I thought to myself: “Man, would I like to try this out!” Fast forward four months, and I’ve had the chance to play with this DIY medium format camera and do a thorough review.

The Lomomod No. 1 is a camera like no other I’ve seen or used. It comes in pre-cut pieces and you’re supposed to build it yourself, which is interesting on its own. It’s paired with a liquid-filled 80mm Sutton lens, which lets you change the tint of your images depending on the liquid you use. Sounds pretty cool, right?

In this article, I’ll share my impressions of the Lomomod No. 1. From initially opening the box to seeing my images for the first time, I’ll write about everything I liked and didn’t like about it. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

Ektachrome 120 and 4×5 formats will be available in the next ten days, Kodak confirms

In early 2019, Kodak announced the comeback of Ektachrome 120 roll film and large format sheet film. After keeping us waiting for almost a year, it seems that we’re now only days away from the official launch. According to Kodak, the Ektachrome 120mm and 4×5 film will be available to order worldwide within the next ten days.
