Will 100MP become a new standard in photography? According to details that were recently leaked about a new sensor from Sony, we’re getting there. Sony is reportedly developing a full-frame sensor which will shoot 102 MP photos and 6K videos. It will be available in consumer cameras, both by Sony and those from other manufacturers.
Phase One has today announced their new IQ4 camera system; Successor to its already very impressive IQ3 camera system. The IQ4 is built on Phase One’s new “Infinity Platform”, the basis for which was introduced with the XF camera body in 2015. Essentially a modular system, allowing you to upgrade different components as necessary.
The new IQ4 series comes with three cameras, the XF IQ4 150MP camera, the IQ4 150MP Achromatic and the IQ4 100MP Trichromatic, each offering their own distinct advantages. And before anybody says anything… Yes, they have dual card slots.
Kicking off 2016 with a bang, Phase One announced a new 100mp full frame 645 medium format sensor.
The sensor was designed together with Sony, and will be used in the new 100MP Phase One XF camera system.
No to be confused with the standard full-frame sensor, this one got its name simply as it’s not a cropped 645 sensor. Don’t worry about mixing them up, though, as the price will quickly remind you this is a medium format camera.
