SpaceX shares unique view of Earth in latest video

SpaceX just shared some stunning footage of planet Earth from the second stage of its workhorse Falcon 9 rocket. The video shows Earth as a tiny blue marble, spinning in the middle of a black expanse.

The ocean, clouds and land are clearly visible from thousands of miles away, and the video recalls the iconic view of Earth from the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.

The footage was captured during SpaceX’s March 17 mission to deploy the Northrop Grumman-built SES-18 and SES-19 telecommunications satellites that will provide C-band television and data services across the U.S.

The video was shot from the second stage of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket as it carried the satellites to a geosynchronous transfer orbit.

Astronauts on board the International Space Station regularly send back striking views of earth, however, at 250 miles up, those are much closer shots than this one. That distance is too close to show the spherical view of our planet like this footage does.

Hopefully, it proves something to any flat-earthers out there!
