Sony had scheduled an announcement via YouTube streaming event for July 7th, but that event has now been postponed over what is rumoured to be “inappropriate” timing for people in China. July 7th marks the anniversary of the “Marco Polo Bridge Incident” in 1937. No official reason, however, has been mentioned by Sony.

The previously scheduled stream has been removed from their YouTube channel and Sony posted the simple 10-second video (above) in its place, noting the postponement. A new date has not yet been announced, although it’s expected to come soon.

The Sony ZV-E10 is expected to be something of a successor to Sony’s popular ZV-1 vlogging camera, except this one is expected to become part of Sony’s alpha mirrorless camera lineup, with an APS-C sized sensor, instead of the 1″ sensor found in the ZV-1 and Sony’s RX100 series. The rumoured specs show an impressive little vlogging camera that looks well placed to compete with the recently announced Nikon Z fc.

  • 24MP APS-C Sensor
  • Kit lens will be a Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6
  • XAVC-S 4k 25p 100mbps
  • FHD 100p
  • Standard and Active stabilization
  • Auto exposure with face priority
  • Product feature autofocus mode (will lock focus on faces unless there is a product shown closer to the camera)
  • Button for Bokeh mode (priotitizes lowest aperture)
  • Dedicated button to swap between S&Q/Photo/Video
  • USB-c tether direct streaming to pc. (Plug and play)
  • fully articulating screen
  • Sony A5xxx body with no EVF
  • Price around $899 (900 Euro)

Exactly when the new camera might be announced now is unknown, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out!
