There aren’t too many third-party autofocus lenses on the market for Nikon Z mount. In fact, the only two that springs to mind are Yongnuo’s 85mm f/1.8 DF DSM and Tamron’s 70-200mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD, both released earlier this year. Now, Yongnuo’s about to release another one. A teaser posted to Yongnuo’s Facebook page, hints at an upcoming Yongnuo 35mm f/2Z DF DSM lens being released soon. Perhaps even later today.

There isn’t a lot of information in the image. There’s a diagram showing the focal length, maximum aperture and dimensions, but that’s pretty much it. It’s interesting to see Yongnuo pushing ahead with autofocus Z mount lenses, though, when almost nobody else is.

Well, it looks like we won’t have to wait another week between the final teaser and the official announcement for Nikon’s upcoming new Z9 flagship mirrorless camera. The fourth and final teaser just went live and Nikon has also posted an official Z9 launch event, which will apparently last the entirety of October 28th, starting at 8am Eastern.

The fourth teaser hints at both the speed of the camera as well as its potential slow-motion video capabilities. Other than that, though, it doesn’t reveal much else. But, we don’t have long to wait now.

The Nikon Z9 is expected to be announced this week and we all suspected that there would probably be at least a couple of leaks leading up to the official announcement. What probably none of us expected is that it would be Nikon themselves who leaked it. But that appears to be exactly what’s happened.

Nikon India accidentally posted the Z9 promo video a little early. It’s since been removed, although it’s been downloaded and reposted in a bunch of locations and it confirms some of the specs for the upcoming camera.

Well, Nikon’s latest annual report is out and it shows a $262 million write off in losses. The report says that Nikon has been facing challenges from the declining demand for camera gear from professionals and hobbyists, increased competition, the global silicon shortage and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite this, Nikon will soon be releasing their new Z9 flagship mirrorless camera and according to Nikon president Toshikazu Umatate, they’ll be increasing their Z mount lens lineup from its current 22 up to “nearly 30”.
