Leica is reissuing the Leica M6 35mm film camera on October 20th with a €4,800 price tag

The Leica M6 film camera is one of the most collectable and sought-after film cameras out there on the used market. They’re not that expensive, either, regularly selling for around €3,000-3,500 or so. But if you want one brand new with a full warranty, then you’ll soon be able to do exactly that. Leica is apparently planning to reissue the Leica M6 rangefinder and it’s rumoured to be announced on October 20th.

Unlike most camera companies, Leica didn’t really stop making film cameras and you can still buy new ones today. The Leica MP, for example, a fully mechanical version of the Leica M7, can be yours for $5,695. But the M6 is one that’s thought of quite fondly amongst Leica shooters. If you want one, you’ll have to be quick, though. It’s rumoured that it’s going to be a limited edition run of only 500 cameras.

Leica could announce another film camera in October. Yes, October 2022

Rumor has it that Leica is about to announce yet another 35mm film camera next month. And yes, we’re living in 2022, you didn’t accidentally walk into a time machine. If you still enjoy shooting film, then you’ll be happy to know that the upcoming model should be far more affordable than the $20k limited edition M-A “Titan” introduced earlier this year.

Leica announces a $20,000 35mm film camera… Yes, it’s 2022

Leica has announced a new, limited edition version of its M-A camera. The Leica M-A “Titan” is the existing M-A dressed in new clothes, and like other Leica’s limited edition pieces – it’s pretty expensive. It will set you back nearly $20k, but there’s something different about it compared to the more recent limited-edition models.

Unlike the more recent limited-edition cameras from Leica, there’s something different about this one – it’s a film camera. Yup, Leica has re-introduced a film camera in 2022 and priced it at nearly $20k.

Ricoh is releasing an “Urban” limited edition version of the GR IIIx with new focus and exposure modes

Ricoh has announced a new Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition Special Limited Kit – bit of a mouthful. As the name suggests, it’s a new limited edition version of the GR IIIx which offers a metallic grey finish with a blue accent around the lens barrel along with some exclusive matching accessories. But it’s not just a pretty face. The GRX IIIx Urban, as we’ll call it from now on, also sports new exposure and focus modes that the standard GR IIIx does not have.

Other than the new exposure and focus modes – which will also be coming to the standard GR IIIx in a future firmware update – the specs are identical to the regular GR IIIx. And despite being a limited edition, the price difference over the standard model isn’t that bad, either. You’re only paying an extra $100 for your bragging rights.

Leica Q2 Monochrom gets a “Reporter” look and wants photojournalists to get it

Leica has released another of its cameras in the olive-green “Reporter” suit. This time, you can get the Q2 Monochrom in this special “outfit,” and it’s not even a lot more expensive than the basic version.

To remind you, Leica already has the M10-P and the regular Q2 in this version. But it’s a pleasant surprise that the Q2 Monochrom doesn’t cost $300 or even $1,000 more than the basic version, like the Q2 and the M10-P respectively.

Leica has just announced a new version of an existing camera: the Q2 Reporter Edition. Similar to the M10-P Reporter, it was also designed with photojournalists in mind. It’s sleek, pretty and discreet, and it won’t even cost you much more than the regular Q2.

Leica’s new $4,000 teddy bear doesn’t even take photos

We’ve seen some limited edition, incredibly expensive stuff Leica launched in collaboration with various artists. But the latest one is downright weird. Teaming up with MediCom Toy Inc., we now have a Leica Bearbrick teddy bear. Yeah, you read that right. What makes it even weirder is that the toy costs like an actual Leica camera, but there’s an important differece – it doesn’t take photos.

TTArtisan launches silver anodised version of their 50mm f/0.95 lens for Leica M

Initially released last year, TTArtisan has expanded its colour options for their 50mm f/0.95 lens for Leica M mount once again. As well as the standard black and limited edition shiny “Silver Black” and red versions, there is now an anodised silver version available. Unlike the other non-black models, this one doesn’t appear to be a limited edition.

As well as the various Leica M mount versions of the lens, TTArtisan also released a very limited run of Sony E and Fuji X mount versions of the lens last year – they only made 20 of each. Like the other Leica M mount versions, though, the lens is identical in spec other than the colour.
