Nashville-based lifestyle blogger Tiffany Mitchell recently posted professional photos of a motorcycle accident she had. As if posting (and even having) such photos wasn’t weird enough, they also contained conveniently placed bottles of water. Because of this, the post seemed like it was sponsored, and she received lots of criticism from the community. People have been calling her out for glamourizing an accident, even for staging the whole thing for the sakes of product placement.

Photographers, Instagrammers – stop being so damn selfish and disrespectful
What does it take to push a farmer to this point?
The point where, fed up of thousands of disrespectful photographers, wannabe “influencers” and narcissistic tourists, they feel the only way to get them to stop damaging their business and property, is to damage those people’s photographs?
I guess those visiting the lavender fields of Valensole, Provence – in the south of France, just found out.

This microbiologist can spot your fake images
When National Geographic published Beth Moon’s images of “the world’s oldest trees by starlight,” seasoned astrophotographers like Adrien Mauduit cried foul. Not only were sections of the sky cloned, but specific stars were appearing in portions of the sky that were physical impossibilities. As other astrophotographers chimed in, a microbiologist emerged as the most eagle-eyed of the bunch. Dr. Elisabeth Bik, a science consultant who runs Microbiome Digest (@microbiomdigest), started finding more manipulation in Moon’s work, as well as other images on the Nat Geo website and by photographers like Steve McCurry.
Instagram is going to let you appeal takedowns of your images
Instagram has become a breeding ground for a lot of negativity as it’s grown and evolved. It’s something that Instagram have been working hard to try and eradicate from the platform. They’ve been demoting “inappropriate content”, removing fake engagement, and doing what they can to reduce online bullying.
But online bullies are using the inappropriate content crackdown to report peoples images that aren’t inappropriate at all. So much so that it’s become something of a problem. Users are having their images taken down, with apparently zero oversight and no recourse. Now, TechCrunch reports that Instagram is changing that by allowing users to appeal takedowns against their account.
Do you have Instagram Derangement Syndrome?
I love Instagram.
But I worry that it’s driving my fellow photographers crazy.
I’ve seen so many photographers do so many wacky things in search of Instafame that I’ve given the madness a name.
I call it… Instagram Derangement Syndrome.

There has been a diptych going around Facebook lately which has made me laugh every time I’ve seen it. Perhaps you’ve seen it too: there’s a woman’s cleavage in one photo and the BTS image in the other, showing that the “cleavage” is actually a man’s butt crack. The photo has gone viral and quickly turned into a meme, but there’s a story behind it that’s even more epic than the idea itself.
German actress and model Palina Rojinski is the person behind it. Being fed up with vulgar comments on her Instagram photos, she thought of this prank to troll the perverts who have been harassing her online.
YouTubers troll photographers at London Fashion Week with fake model in hilarious outfits
The world of fashion can be quirky sometimes, to say the least. We’ve seen models wearing bizarre creations many times, and Zac and Jamie of The Zac and Jay Show wondered: could they plant a fake model and make photographers at London Fashion Week think that he was real? It turned out that it was pretty easy to do it; all they needed was one day and some imagination for creating a ridiculous outfit.
