Nashville-based lifestyle blogger Tiffany Mitchell recently posted professional photos of a motorcycle accident she had. As if posting (and even having) such photos wasn’t weird enough, they also contained conveniently placed bottles of water. Because of this, the post seemed like it was sponsored, and she received lots of criticism from the community. People have been calling her out for glamourizing an accident, even for staging the whole thing for the sakes of product placement.

This influencer posts her hilarious bloopers on Instagram to show that social media isn’t real life
Having a huge number of followers on social media gives you a chance to send a message and let your voice be heard. Therefore, Dutch influencer Rianne Meijer has started a personal project to remind her 408k followers that “perfect life” they see on Instagram isn’t reality. Along with her perfectly staged photos, she also posts hilarious outtakes which prove that Insta-life isn’t at all what it seems.
This ice cream truck owner’s had enough of Instagram influencers, so he charges them double
We’ve all heard of Instagram influencers who ask for freebies. I’ve always thought that they usually ask for pricey stuff, such as photography services, or free accommodation on exotic locations. But it turns out that some of them go as low as asking for free ice cream in exchange for “exposure.” The owner of L.A. ice cream truck CVT Soft Serve got fed up with this. So, he decided to charge Instagram influencers double.
Photographer gets bashed after refusing to work for an Instagram “influencer” for free
It’s not that rare for self-proclaimed Instagram influencers to feel like they’re entitled to getting freebies. One of them asked Betrothed & Co for a $5,000 wedding photography package, and they wanted it for free, of course. The photographers said no in a brilliant, tongue-in-cheek response, but then the person called them “abusive” and threatened to publicly shame them.
Influencer Marketing: How much is your instagram account worth, and how fake are your followers?
Even if you don’t consider yourself an Instagram influencer, we all invest a significant amount of time and effort cultivating an eager crowd of social media followers.
So haven’t you always wanted to know how much your Instagram account is worth – and how fake your (and others) followers are?
Well, I recently came across two free online tools that do just that. In this article, I will put my own Instagram account (@jpdanko) to the test, along with a few well known creative industry related to Instagram influencers!
Unsecured database exposes private data of millions of Instagram influencers
In a database recently discovered online, there was a vast number of private data of various Instagram influencers, celebrities, and brands. There were nearly 50 million people affected, and the database contained even their private data, including phone numbers and email addresses.
Instagram influencer faked her trip to Coachella to prove how easily social media can fool you
It’s nothing new that Instagram celebrities share fake stuff on their profiles: from fake pancakes to a (poorly) photoshopped trip to Paris. But sadly, millions of followers believe that their lives are indeed just as glamorous as they portray them. YouTube and Instagram star Gabbie Hanna decided to do something about it. She posted a series of photos from this year’s Coachella, but all of them were photoshopped. Rather than being busted by followers, she admitted herself that she faked the whole thing. She basically fought fire with fire because she wanted to show how easy it is for social media to fool us.
Notting Hill residents to influencers: “stop shooting Instagram photos at our doorsteps”
Notting Hill isn’t just the location where the famous movie was shot. It has become the place where bloggers and influencers shoot their Instagram photos– and the residents hate it. They complain that the picturesque London neighborhood has become swarmed by “Insta-tourists” and begging them to stop taking photos at their doorsteps.
How this Instagram influencer earns up to $100,000 a year by climbing mountains
Influencers are a growing group on Instagram. So popular, that they may even get a special type of accounts. Still, many people don’t know what exactly influencers do, and it may even seem like they don’t do anything.
Meghan Young makes a living from climbing the mountains and she earns up to $100,000 a year by posting photos and videos of her adventures to Instagram. Sounds like a dream come true, but is it really like that? Just like any job, being an influencer has its downsides. And in this video from Bloomberg, you’ll get to see what it all looks like.
Influencers could soon have a special type of Instagram account
Influencers are an important and growing group on Instagram. So, the company is testing a new type of accounts designed particularly for this group. Reportedly, a small group of high-profile Instagram users is currently testing the so-called “creator accounts.” This type of accounts would be tailored especially for influencers, so they wouldn’t need to use business or personal accounts for what they do.
